Moulin d’or (Golden Mill in English) is a Canadian based bakery owned by Middle Eastern Partners specializing exclusively in Lebansese Pita & Tannour bread, achieving the finest quality & authenticity. What sets them apart from their competition is higher quality at an affordable price, they are able to set competitive prices due to their total control from production to distribution. Moulin d’or strives to deliver traditional & authentic middle eastern baked goods while retaining a modern & approachable presence for a larger target audience.
The main design problem revolves on how to represent traditional Arabic baking onto the classical French bakery scene.
Cultural motifs is a winding road on branding and design direction since it involves tradition versus flexibility on brand. The team had performed research on traditional print media, context of the vicinity, and deep diving on the brand’s history in order to get to the authentic representation of it.
Logo inspiration is derived from vintage styled Mill illustrations two-toned intricate texturing paired with wheat wreaths. Wordmark, Subtitle & Icon have been adjusted proportionately to work for various sized artboards. This direct proportion helps in creating multiple logo layouts to fit perfectly relevant to artboard size.
